Dairy Science Department at ADSA'08

The Dairy Science department was well represented at the 2008 Joint Annual Meeting of the American Dairy Science Association, and American Society for Animal Science. The meeting was held in Indianapolis, IN from 7-11 July. Fifteen faculty, staff and students participated along with many former SDSU Dairy Science alums. The Dairy Science group presented a total of 14 research papers at the meeting. Four students participated in the graduate student paper presentation contests for Dairy Foods and Dairy Production. Titles of papers presented will be available on the publications page of the Dairy Science website in the near future. Dr. Lloyd Metzger: Chair – ADSA Foundation Scholar Award Committee, Member – ADSA Dairy Foods Milk Protein and Enzyme Committee, Invited Speaker – Advances in Low fat Cheese Research Symposium, Elected – Secretary of the ADSA Dairy Foods division
Dr. David Schingoethe: Presented an invitational paper on The Use of Distillers Grains in Dairy Cattle Diets. Member of the Contemporary and Emerging Issues committee for the '09-'11 meetings.
