Dr. Arnold Appelt, Director of State Dairy Lab retires

Dr. Arnold W. Appelt, Lab Evaluation Officer of the SD State Dairy Laboratory retired after 32 years of service to the state of South Dakota. A retirement reception was recently held in his honor at the Dairy Science department. Dr. Appelt holds a B.A., and M.A degrees in Zoology and Ph.D degrees in Mammalian Physiology, all from the University of South Dakota. Dr. Applet began his career with the State lab system in 1977 when he was employed as Technician II. He rose through the ranks of Chemist I, Chemist II and ultimately as Director and LEO of the State Dairy Lab in 1998.
