John Brandt Memorial Scholarship

Benjamin Pamp is the recipient of the 2006-2007 John Brandt Memorial Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded annually on a competitive basis to students pursuing advanced studies in the field of Dairy Science. Ben is working towards his Ph.D. in Dairy Production under the guidance of Dr. Kenneth Kalscheur. His research will evaluate dried distillers grains versus soybean protein as a source of rumen-undegraded protein for lactating dairy cows. It will also determine the optimum inclusion rate of rumen-degradable protein with distillers to minimize nitrogen excretion by the animal.
