SDSU Dairy Science at the 2007 Central Plains Dairy Expo

Alumni, students, staff and faculty of the Dairy Science Department were involved in various activities of the 2007Central Plains Dairy Expo that was held in Sioux Falls during 20-22 March. Faculty and alumni were also involved in program planning. Dairy Club and staff assisted with registration and other duties. Faculty provided presentations on various topics and conducted a cheese tasting contest. The 2007 South Dakota Dairy Princess contest was held in conjunction with the Expo. Of the eight contestants two were current Dairy Science students and one contestant will join Dairy Science as a freshman in fall’07. Katie Norling, Manufacturing freshman, was crowned as Dairy Princess. Katie is from Beresford, SD and has been very active in 4-H and FFA. As the SD Dairy Princess, she will promote the SD dairy industry throught the year. She takes over this role from Jenna Mueller who was crowned as Princess in 2006. Jenna is Manufacturing and Production senior in Dairy Science.
