SDSU at Quality Chekd Seco Conference
The Spring 2006 Management and Leadership Conference sponsored by Quality Chekd Seco (QCS) was held in St. Louis, Missouri on April 23 – 25. Numerous educational workshops were conducted at the conference including a workshop on Sensory Evaluation of Dairy Products. Richard DeRouchey of Mitchell, SD, the first place individual in All Products at the 2005 National Collegiate Dairy Products Judging Contest, participated at the workshop along with Dr. Bob Baer, Coach of the SDSU Dairy Products Judging Team. Also, evaluating the vanilla and chocolate ice cream, cottage cheese, and sour cream samples were Rachel Yost, a food science student at Clemson University, Johnny McGregor, Coach of the Clemson University Dairy Products Judging Team, and Bruce Tharp, chief ice cream judge at the Collegiate Dairy Products Evaluation Contest. Dan Stockwell (B.S. Dairy Manufacturing, 1970) is the Quality and Safety Director for Quality Chekd Dairies, Inc. located in Naperville, IL.
